Game 3 Notes
Storytold by Liz.
from here on in, we're trying the official ballad optional rule of "A Terrifying Whisper: The Seat may speak twice per game. Once privately and once publicly."
- mana the boffin gave codex the pukka the pacifist ability. codex hit shadow the washerwoman with his night 1 poisoning, and i took the opportunity for shadow to confirm a pacifist between the demon and minion.
- day 1, shadow got himself on the block, so i decided to use the pacifist ability to save him; this had the effect of confirming him, but more importantly it prevented a night of no deaths, which would have activated pukka-poison alarm bells. codex became very trusted for most of the game!
- the next pukka poison was james, the solo village idiot, who had got a successful evil hit on mana, and then got his second poisoned ping as evil on seat 7.
- meanwhile, seat 7 the seamstress picked shadow (confirmed) and james (random), learning that they were both on the same team, and later shared this privately with shadow and mana.
- mana was executed the night james died, so kris the oracle, the third pukka poison, got two 0s in a row, making him paranoid that two evils remained alive.
- the final day, town seemed almost intent on killing polo, the shugenja with a sober ping immediately next to the demon, but then swung wildly to execute seat 7 instead. there was much worldbuilding around a pukka, but nobody followed that far enough back to realise that shadow's info was false!
New Arrivals: Librarian → Washerwoman, Recluse → Ogre, Harpy → Mezepheles
Game 2 Notes
Storytold by Shadow.
- Seat 7 was the Scarlet Woman, who received a Damsel ping and was keeping an ear open for any info on the Damsel, knowing that it could use its once per game speaking rule to make a Damsel guess, though it would only happen if they had ironclad information on who the Damsel might be.
- Town did an excellent job on hiding Jaydn, the Damsel, who claimed Village Idiot the entire game, nominated a Virgin and didn't die, and survived to Final 3.
- Liz, the aforementioned Virgin, was not only nominated by an Outsider, but was also Pukka-Poisoned at the time of nomination, and was also executed that day, leading to a night of no deaths.
- The lack of deaths helped Radar, the Pukka, who was claiming Innkeeper. Radar also spoke to Seat 7 and gave it one of the bluffs, Shugenja, and told it to claim Shugenja pointing towards Jaydn and Oz, which Seat 7 did when put on the block later.
- Oz was a healthy and sober Village Idiot with good information, supported by Sylvie, the Ogre, who chose them Night 1.
- Mana was the drunk Village Idiot, who got himself executed in order to begin removing VI from the script.
- That left Emma, the Balloonist (who added the Ogre), who spoke to Seat 7 and told it that she suspected Liz of being the Drunk. This was very helpful in hiding Jayden's Damsel identity and resolving the Jaydn-Liz Virgin conflict. Emma, coincidentally, learned Jaydn and Liz as her pings, indicating to her they were not the same character type.
- Despite Seat 7 being put on the block, their declaration of Shugenja pointing at Jaydn and Oz, combined with near-unanimous voting and Mana's drunken read of them as good-aligned, spooked town into nominating and executing Oz instead.
- This resulted in a Final 3 of Jaydn, Radar and Seat 7. When Jaydn nominated and executed Seat 7, Radar declined to nominate, securing the win for Evil.
- seat 7 pulled the noble token, getting pings on sylvie the seamstress, kris the librarian and emma the recluse (who registered as evil)
- kris the librarian got a librarian 0 (the base number for this 10-player game), despite emma's presence - because she didnt register as an outsider! then found himself in a double claim with mana the harpy, who claimed to have seen emma and seat 7 as the damsel.
- sylvie the seamstress used her ability between mana and kris, ensuring that they were not an evil pair sewing discord, and confirming that they were on different teams.
- mana spent his harpying targeting sylvie pointing towards jaydn the oracle (who unfortunately died first) - sylvie broke madness, killing herself in town, confirming the presence of a harpy.
- ozzy the balloonist, meanwhile, got pings on jaydn, then emma, then radar, the imp.
- shadow the boffin gained the drunk ability, picking codex the farmer blindly, drunking him. radar, knowing this, killed him later, simulating a world where he was poisoned by the demon, as he couldn't pass his pitchfork onto anyone.
- shadow bluffed village idiot pointing suspicious towards seat 7, while radar spread misinfo with a risky dreamer bluff. the final 3 was shadow, radar and seat 7, but as seat 7 had already spoken to share its pings, the evil team won unnominated!
