Flesh and Bone – Fabled
Each character that dies by execution will be replaced on the script by a new, not yet eliminated, character of the same category for the next game.

Getting Started

The rules below are a guideline to help you have the best possible experience with Flesh & Bone. They are only a guideline, feel free to customization and home brew on top of these rules. The App is provided as a platform to let you get the most out of your campaigns. If you have any feedback please come share it in our Discord Server. The decision of the Game Master running the campaign or Storyteller running the game is final.

General Rules

The Golden Rule: THE SCRIPTS MUST FLOW

If you have ended up in a situation after a game where a character was not eliminated and you are potentially about to play the same script twice in a row. STOP! If a rule below does not cover your situation then eliminate the character of the winning team that appears first on the script.

Generic Character Rules

To support a true battle-royale of the forces of good and evil, the Living Script system needs a way to facilitate a validate character count when official characters start to become limited in supply. When either Townsfolk, Outsiders or Minions are below the desired script size, a typical script has 13 townsfolk, 4 outsiders, 4 minions, then the Generic characters of that category will be added to the script. Think of them as extra tokens to cover the missing number of official characters you would normally have in their place. These characters are never eliminated from a campaign. The rules for the characters are below:

Generic Townsfolk icon

Generic Townsfolk

Ability: If you die by execution: Tonight, choose an alive player, they learn you are the Townsfolk. [+? up to townsfolk count if required]

If the Townsfolk died due to execution they may point to a player. Wake that player, show the 'This character selected you' card and the Townsfolk token, then point to the Townsfolk player. The Townsfolk player needed to be sober and healthy when they were executed for this ability to work. It is recommended you add as many townsfolk to the game as required to reach a rules legal number of townsfolk for your game.

Generic Outsider icon

Generic Outsider

Ability: If you die by execution, 1 player might die at any time. You also have the Drunk's ability. [+? as required]

If the Generic Outsider dies due to execution and was sober/healthy at the time of their execution, mark another alive player with the Will Die reminder token. At any time, you may decide that the marked player dies. If this is during the day, immediately declare that the player has died. If this is during the night, mark the player with the DEAD reminder and wait until dawn to declare which players died during the night. (Do not say how.) is punishing for the good team as balance

Setup Add all non-generic outsider tokens to the bag or assign as a Demon bluff first. If you still require additional outsiders for the game then place any townsfolk characters into the bag as if you were setting them up as the Drunk. Mark those characters with the Outsider & Drunk reminder token.

Generic Minion icon

Generic Minion

Ability: On your 1st night, choose a player: they are poisoned. [+? up to minion player count if required]

On the first night the Generic Minion is in play, they choose a player. That player is poisoned until the Generic Minion dies or is removed from play. Unlike the Poisoner, the Generic Minion does not choose a new target each night.

When setting up a script with Generic Minion, add the non-generic minion tokens to the bag first. If you are still short of minion tokens for the number of minions required for the game then add Generic Minions.
